"Where I'm From Poem"

I am from the Bad Girls Club
Hearing Natalie saying "I run La,right now."
I am from Montenegro
Eating crunchy soft pita.
I'm from shopping
From American Eagle and my cute,
Small,black and turquoise bag.
From listening to my I-Pod
To do my annoying,unenjoyable homework.
I am from those lavenders in front of my fence.(Purple, and springy
smelling really good.)
I am from my mom yelling at me not to use her perfume
Because I use a lot for no reason.
"Amela stop spraying it so much you're killing me with the smell!!!
From my sister begging me to play with her outside to
Me playing because I feel bad.
I am from going on vaction to Montenegro
and seeing it's gorgous beauty and seeing my grandma whom
I love so much.
From being a lawyer in the future
Fighting for people's rights saying
"your honer my clinet is not guilty
And this is why."
I am that root that is loud, sweet, and caring
But I'm the imporant part of the tree.

The Edge is where I want to be Short Responce

I think that the author's veiwpoint of this poem is that life can have its difficulties, that there's an edge and we should live on the edge. For example the quote says "if you want to spend your life drinking lite beer smoking another joint eating what's put in front of you and home entertaning yourself till you suffocate on the vacuous paucity of your miserably crippled existence then go ahead-have a virtual life. This shows that we should live life on the edge because without the edge our life would be so boring and simple. You just drink beer, smoke another joint and you go to sleep and it begans again the next morning. Another example is "and what's life without and edge?,it's DULL. This quote explains that you keep living your old, simple, boring life and you don't have eximent in your life. Also, another quote that proves the author's viewpoint is "Lose the edge and all you've got is middle, middle aged, middle class, middle of the road, middle management you're dribbling along in the uncooked vanilla pudding of life." That quote means that you're in the middle, average. You want to be more than average you want to be extranoray. You want to take risks and enjoy living.

Sandy Beaches Object Poem

Sandy Beaches
Sprinkle, Squish between my toes
The smell of the looking out at the crystal clear blue waters
To my nose
I can feel each grain of sand,
It falls from air into my hand feeling the soft, drops against my skin
The shells I find along the shore,
Picked up by birds that fly and soar
Like kids reaching for their toys on the living room floor
They sparkle like the oceans waves
And carry sand from all the long, flowing lakes
I walk along the tip of the sea,
That’s where my feet leave
Prints to be
I walk all the way to the end
Of the landThe land that holds this beautiful sand

Hanging (object Poem)

Everyday you have something hanging on me
Heavy coats like an elephant
Heavy clothes like a textbook
I’m just tired of this
How about you be the hanger and I’ll hang on you
I’ll put my heavy
Bag on you and
Invite some friends
Of my friends so
They can hang some heavy clothes on you.

Favorite Line from "Flashy Words"

"Open your brain let your heart go.The real you has been locked inside your rib cage."
This is my favorite line because sometimes people loss themselves and they can't find themselves and they don't want to do anything and I just like how this sounds so this is why I like this line.

My Favorite Poem So Far

We have read lots of poems in class and they have all been great. One of my favorite poem from class is "Still I Rise."I like this poem because its really inspirational and many people can get and understand it. Like if someone does not like you and they are jealous you just don't care what they say and you're still gonna rise. I also like this poem because it tells everyone who cares about what people think about you. You know who you are and that's the only thing that matters.
